BSG Annual 2022

COVID procedure prior to the event

Self testing

We highly suggest our attendees to take a self test approximately 5 - 7 days prior to arrival.

This is to clear any uncertainty regarding prolonged positive test results after recovery. It has been proven that some individuals may test positive up to 6 weeks afterwards.

In the case of no symptoms: if a covid test comes back positive 5 - 7 days prior to the event, according to guidelines the infectious period has passed. As such, any positive test after this time, up to 6 weeks, and as long as the individual remains free of symptoms, can be disregarded.

What to pack

We highly recommend each and every one of our attendees to bring at least 2 self tests. BSG provides the test upon arrival and one test per person in case of symptoms arising.

Bring some face masks. BSG will have a box of face masks available at the tech desk in case of an emergency, but we request people to bring their own masks.

BSG Annual 2022

COVID entry procedure

Entrance

Upon arrival you will be guided to the testing area, which will be located in the bigger leisure room. A COVID rapid-test will be administered to you by a designated person.

Said test will be marked with your Discord-tag, in order to facilitate a smooth retrieval of your event badge.

Waiting Procedure

After the test has been administered, you will be directed to the waiting area, which will be located in the same room just past the info desk. We will kindly request you to stay seated for 15 minutes while waiting for the test to develop. Please do wear a facemask during this time.

You will be informed of the test results by the medical staff as soon as possible.

Negative Test Result

Upon receiving a negative test result, you will receive your event badge from the medical staff. You are now allowed to enter all event spaces.

This also means that - in case you decide to head out/home - you won’t need to be retested upon re-arrival.

Positive Test Result

In the event of a positive test result, you will not be allowed to enter the event spaces. Therefore, you will not receive your event badge. You will be requested to quarantine either in your accommodations or at home.

If the positive test result at entry prevents you from partaking in the event, your ticket will be refunded.

In case you will be rooming with another person, unfortunately they will need to be quarantined as well, unless they have not yet been in contact with you and are able to adjust accommodations, resulting in the infected person having a separate room.

In line with the RIVM (Dutch Government) guidelines: quarantine should last a minimum of 5 days, in which the day of the positive test OR start of symptoms counts as day 0. The infected person is allowed to leave quarantine if those 5 days have passed AND said person is free of any symptoms for at least 24 hours.

COVID procedure during the event

Facemasks

During the event we recommend wearing a mask over your nose and mouth within the event spaces. We would like to ask everyone to respect people’s boundaries in regards to the level of safety measures they choose to take. In addition, we would like to remind everyone that our anti-harassment policy covers this subject as well.

Covid Tests

If you happen to feel unwell during the week, stay in your room and contact someone from organizing/staff to get a test delivered to your hotel room. If you do not feel comfortable taking your own covid test, you can request a medical staff member to administer the test to you.

For those having their accommodations elsewhere, we kindly request you to isolate yourself from the event in the case of any symptoms arising. We can discuss whether we can deliver a test to you on a case by case basis.

In case of a positive test, you and any roommates will be asked to quarantine according to the RIVM Guidelines: quarantine should last a minimum of 5 days, in which the day of the positive test OR start of symptoms counts as day 0. The infected person is allowed to leave quarantine if those 5 days have passed AND said person is free of any symptoms for at least 24 hours.

Monitoring

We are monitoring the event throughout the week and can choose to adjust the level of COVID measures as needed. In extreme cases, it may result in the cancellation of runs, activities, or in the worst case, the marathon itself.

Face masks + disinfection

A box of facemasks will be made available to our volunteers, these can be found on the tech desk. We still highly request you to bring your own masks. The masks at the tech desk will be made available if a facemask is requested (e.g. during setup) and none is at hand.

Several stands with disinfection-gel will be available to all attendees. Please disinfect your hands regularly.

Disinfection-supplies will be made available at the tech desk, in order to sanitize equipment.
